Paul David Adkins
We are thrilled to announce that Paul David Adkins’ chapbook The Upside Down House has been published by YellowJacket Press. The title poem, “The Upside Down House on Sunrise Golf Village, Fla.” first appeared in Saw Palm Volume #6, which can be read on our Past Issues page.
Bianca Diaz
Her poem, "The Light in the Dark" received 3rd place in Naugatuck River Review's narrative poetry contest and her poem, "Clementines," published in Jet Fuel Review, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
Gianna Russo
was recently the "Poet-in-Residence" at the Florida College English Association conference on October 17-18th 2013 in Ybor City hosted by Hillsborough Community College. She will also give a reading on the opening night of the Other Words conference hosted by the Florida Literary Arts Coalition in St. Augustine, Nov. 7-9, at Flagler College.
Carol Lynn Grellas
Since her poem "Letters from Under the Banyan Tree" was first published in Saw Palm, that poem has become the title of a chapbook published by Aldrich Press. She was also a winner in the 2012 Red Ochre Chapbook contest with her chapbook Before I Go To Sleep. Another collection is forthcoming from Kattywompus Press entitled The Nightly Suicides.
John Brandon
has a short story collection entitled Further Joy scheduled to be released June '14 by McSweeney's. The title story, "Further Joy" first appeared in Saw Palm.
Ryan Meany
His short story "Bama" will soon appear in the South Carolina Review and his poem "Distant Relative" will be in the spring issue of the New Ohio Review.
Dianna Calareso
Her most recent publication, "Dear Ray" appeared in the Spring 2013 issue of Glassworks Magazine.
Michael Hettich
His manuscript entitled Systems of Vanishing won the 2013 Tampa Review Prize in Poetry & will be published in April 2014.
Nathan Holic
His novel, American Fraternity Man, was published in the summer of 2013 by Beating Windward Press. A short description: "Through both text and illustrations, Nathan Holic offers an intimate portrait of a young man struggling to become the right kind of professional, while also coming to terms with the harsh financial and political realities behind the ambitious mission statements and corporate philosophies. Set within a broad panoramic of the national fraternity world, American Fraternity Man offers a humanizing look at the individuals who live and breathe Greek Life, while also giving an unrivaled glimpse at the power, potential, and absurdity of the National Fraternity/Sorority business."
In 2013 his short fiction “Consider the Milkshake,” appeared in Monkeybicycle and “The Adventures of an Elderly Couple Unseen in The Avengers,” appeared in Barrelhouse. Two of Nathan's essays also appeared on The Huffington Post: "When Do We Stop Caring About the Brands That Define Us?" and "When We Say We're Bored, What Are We Really Saying About Ourselves?"
Laura Andrews
Recently, her story "Karl's Last Night," modern literary noir, appeared in The Rag, Issue #5, which is available as an e-mag from Amazon. The speculative fiction story, "The Legend of Johnny Bell" was Solarcide.com's featured story in August 2013 and "Prelude To A Murder Conviction," won an honorable mention from The Writers of the Future contest 2013. Her story, "Becky's Story," which first appeared in Saw Palm (and was her first publication), as well as "Skinned" are finalists in the 2013 Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Awards to be announced in October.
Scott F. Hall
recently created video art selected for inclusion in the WPA's Experimental Media 2013 Video Screening Series. Screenings were held on 12 September 2013 at the Phillips Collection, Washington, D.C., on 23 September at The Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design, Washington, D.C., and on 11 October at the Museum of the Moving Image, New York City. Watch the video in You Tube here. The exhibit was juried by Jason Eppink, Associate Curator of Digital Media at the Museum of the Moving Image. Hall’s video Strata (Fleeting Memories) was co-produced in summer 2012 in Sunderland, England with British experimental artist/musician, Freya Gustava. Hall recently returned from an exhibition of his work in group at The White Building in London.
Anita Dallar
published an anthology of poetry in 2008 entitled "Dreams & Visions" which will be available through Barnes and Noble in 2014. Also, a half dozen of her intaglio monotype collages will be on exhibit during the month of November 2013 at the Coastal Region Library in Crystal River, FL. The work is inspired by an 2012 artist residency in Northern Arizona and consists of abstract illustrations of the landscape, wildlife, and cultural history of the American Southwest.

recently edited a nonfiction book, All That Glitters, which came out in October of 2013.
Kevin Boldenow
His next two exhibitions will be at Polk State College's Lake Wales gallery November 4 - December 5, 2013, and with the Pensacola Museum of Art April 10 - May 30, 2014. He is also working on a pictorial for the city of Indiantown, Florida. The exhibit will be in February - March, 2014.
